The bulletin covers all competition formats, entry procedures, accreditation, fees, venue logistics, accommodation and the complete programme for 4–9 November 2026 at Emirates Arena, Glasgow. All National Federations and participating clubs are encouraged to read the bulletin thoroughly before submitting entries.

The 12th Commonwealth Karate Championships 2026 features two distinct events at Emirates Arena, Glasgow: ELITE CHAMPIONSHIPS (Thu 5 – Fri 6 November) For NGB-nominated athletes only. • Day 1 (8am–6pm): All Kata · All Youth Kumite · All Cadet Kumite · Finals · Medal Presentation • Day 2 (8am–6pm): Junior · U21 · Senior · Team Kumite · Opening Ceremony · Finals · Medal Presentation CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS (Sat 7 – Sun 8 November) Open to all WKF-affiliated clubs from Commonwealth nations. • Day 1 (8am–6pm): All Kata · Children's · Youth · Cadet Kumite · Finals · Medal Presentation • Day 2 (8am–6pm): Junior · U21 · Senior · Team Kumite · Veterans · Opening Ceremony · Finals · Medal Presentation Delegations arrive 4 November and depart 9 November. Journalists, photographers, videographers and broadcasters wishing to cover the 12th Commonwealth Karate Championships 2026 can apply for press accreditation via the Media Centre section of this website. Applications are reviewed by the organising committee. The deadline for media accreditation applications is 31 October 2026. For media enquiries, contact: ckfglasgow2026@gmail.com
International athletes, coaches and officials travelling to Glasgow must check their UK entry requirements as early as possible. • Many Commonwealth nations require a UK visa — processing can take several weeks. • Some visa-exempt countries now require an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA), which costs £10 and is linked to your passport. Do not leave this until the last minute. Check your requirements at gov.uk/check-uk-visa and contact your National Federation for delegation guidance. The organising committee strongly recommends all delegations begin this process now.
Spectator day passes are available for all four days of competition at Emirates Arena, Glasgow. Pricing: • 1 Day: £10 • 2 Days: £15 • 3 Days: £20 • 4 Days: £25 Whether you want to watch the elite finals on Thursday and Friday, or cheer on your club on the weekend — there is a ticket option for everyone. All delegation accreditation will take place on Wednesday 4 November 2026 at Emirates Arena — the day before competition begins. Key points for team managers and coaches: • Kumite athletes must complete their official weigh-in during accreditation on 4 Nov • Bench passes for coaches and officials are issued on-site — the number per delegation is confirmed in the Event Bulletin • CKF affiliation fees (2-year membership) are collected in Glasgow at accreditation • Referees Briefing: 4–6pm on 4 November • CKF Congress: 4–6pm on 4 November All officials must be registered through their National Federation in advance.
We are proud to confirm Emirates Arena (1000 London Road, Glasgow G40 3HG) as the host venue for the 12th Commonwealth Karate Championships 2026. With a capacity of 12,500 and a proud history hosting events at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, Emirates Arena provides world-class facilities for competitors and spectators alike. The nearest rail station is Dalmarnock (approx. 5 min walk). Limited on-site paid parking is available — we recommend arriving early on competition days. The official recommended accommodation for the 12th Commonwealth Karate Championships 2026 is the Glynhill Hotel & Spa, Paisley Road, Renfrew PA4 8XB. Glasgow city centre hotels are also approximately 15 minutes from Emirates Arena and offer a wide range of options at all price points. Delegations are advised to book accommodation early, particularly for the competition week of 4–9 November 2026.
The closing date for all entries to both the Elite and Club Championships is 11 October 2026. All entries must be submitted by your National Federation via the Sportdata platform at sportdata.org. Individual registrations are not accepted. Entry fees: • Elite Individual: £50 | Elite Team: £80 • Club Individual: £40 | Club Team: £60 Payment is via PayPal through Sportdata. All fees are non-refundable. Contact your National Federation well in advance of the deadline.
